How Can Counselling Help Me?
Counselling can help by providing you with a safe and confidential space to be able to explore together what is going on in your life and what is troubling you. It can be very beneficial to be able to share with someone who is not involved with your personal situation and who is not going to tell you what you should do.
I understand that life is often a struggle and we can easily become confused and overwhelmed. We are frequently limited by our circumstances and situations that we are powerless to change, such as an illness or loss of a loved one. However, I believe that even though it's challenging we can still choose how we respond to these circumstances. Counselling can help you to explore your struggles, values, beliefs and find meaning in your life.
How will I work with you?
I aim to build a positive, trusting relationship with you so that you can talk freely and begin to explore your difficult thoughts, feelings and emotions.
I view empathic understanding and non-judgemental acceptance as fundamental to counselling and I will not be telling you what to do or what you should talk about. Our work together will help you to increase your personal awareness, discover patterns of thought or behaviour that are no longer helpful and aid you in discovering all of the choices open to you.
I believe that everyone has the capacity to change and grow if they are accepted as they are and that the right support can assist you in reaching your full potential in life.
